Cape Town

A short drive away lies the Cape Winelands, home to Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. At Cape Point, you can explore the rugged beauty of where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet, and visit the historic lighthouse that stands as a beacon of maritime history. Boulders Beach is famous for its resident colony of African penguins. Robben Island offers a profound experience as you visit the former prison of Nelson Mandela and learn about South Africa’s struggle for freedom. The vibrant Bo-Kaap neighborhood, with its brightly colored houses, is rich in Cape Malay culture and offers a glimpse into the city’s history and diverse culinary traditions. The V&A Waterfront is the heart of Cape Town’s entertainment, offering shopping, dining, markets, museums like the Zeitz MOCAA for contemporary African Art, and boat tours around the harbor. Alex grew up in Mpumalanga, meaning "the place where the sun rises."
